The Korana Viewpoint — a view to enjoy

Some things about the Korana you only take in once you climb above it. While you're down by the water, the river is beside you, around you, but you don't see it whole. Only from the viewpoint above the Korana does it finally reveal itself — entire, in its flow, the way you see it only from above.

To the viewpoint you travel by a simple road through the forest — part asphalt, part gravel. It isn't a climb the way it is in other forests; it's a passage by road, with the viewpoint waiting on the right. And at the top waits what you came for — the Korana below you, the greenery spreading out, and that feeling that comes only once you stand at a place that has seen it all.

More than one way up

The viewpoint can be reached from several directions. From the main swimming beach, from the village of Strmac (above, opposite Rastoke), from the direction of Kotlac, or from the village of Mali Vuković. Each of these paths leads into the same forest, but each gives its own feel to the approach before you reach the viewpoint.

If you're cycling

If you're cycling, routes 21, 22, 24 and 25 all intersect in Mali Vuković and will get you to the viewpoint. Check the map for more detail.

However you come, the viewpoint gives you the same thing — a moment where you stop, look down, and see the Korana the way it deserves to be seen.
