You reach Oltar on foot along the water from the main beach, or from town by car, parking somewhere in the forest. There's always a place to leave your bike, and enough grass to spread out a towel and your things. And when you arrive, there's a view toward the rocks, toward the Korana, and toward the viewpoint you can see up above the river.

For swimmers and for children

Oltar is a great starting point for a longer swim. From here you can swim all the way to the main beach, or toward Škrila, or simply turn around and come back whenever you like. For real swimmers it's ideal. And for children too — it isn't deep at the start, so the entry is safe, with a little shade from the Jelvik forest.

Come before noon

If you can, come to Oltar before noon. That's when the sun is at its best, and it's a particular feeling — arriving at the Korana in the morning light, the way it touches your shoulders, the way it bounces off the water. It isn't the same as the afternoon. Oltar shows itself at its loveliest in exactly those morning hours.
