Škrila — a place to float, wrapped in the richest green of the Korana
Concrete steps to rest on, shallow stone to enter by. A great starting point for swimming along the Korana.
Škrila is the first swimming spot you reach when you set off upstream from the main beach along the riverside path. A place that doesn't ask for much explaining — you arrive, you get in, and you let the water carry you.
It has concrete steps and a block where you can sit or lie down, rest and sunbathe. Getting into the water is easy, and the first thing to greet you is flat stone slabs you can stand on. The whole Korana is wrapped in greenery, but at Škrila it overhangs in a special way — the green hangs over the water more than perhaps anywhere else — so the banks full of that grass and the Jelvik forest on the far side make you feel this is exactly the place to relax and float.
A starting point
Škrila is also a fine place to start a swim. You can head down toward the main beach — the shorter route — or upstream toward Oltar, which is a little longer. Or you simply stay here, on the slab, and watch the river.
Now and then someone drifts past on a paddleboard, and it looks beautiful in this setting. Škrila is great for children too — an easy entry, shallow at the start, places to sit. And for anyone who loves nature photography, as with all of the Korana, there's plenty to catch here as well.
